Hi Sue, thanks for letting us know the 2-in-1 didn't work for you. I would definitely say with dry, curly hair as you've described, that separate bars will be better for your hair type for sure (check our 'match your hair' guide website link below).
Whilst there's a good amount of conditioning properties in the 2-in-1, it is limited, as it's a convenience bar . A separate conditioner will just give you that extra detangling and improved wet combing ability, extra frizz control and shine.
For my medium fine hair, the 2-in-1 is good [and I find combing it lightly in the shower works) and whilst it does feel different right after showering (which takes some getting used to), I then can't tell the difference between it and separate bars once my hair is styled. If you have any of the bar left, you could always use it as a body soap bar or add a little conditioner at the end of shampoo-ing until it's used up. Thanks for giving it a go anyway.
