Lavender Linen Spray Recipe

Lavender flowers have a gentler, softer, sweeter scent than Lavender essential oil and this amazing herb is not only anti-bacterial but also helps with stress, anxiety and sleeplessness.

You can read more about just some of these amazing benefits of lavender, including help for those who's sleep is disturbed, right here.

The flowers of lavender are fragrant in nature and have been used for making potpourri and cosmetics for centuries. Traditionally, lavender essential oil has also been used in making perfumes. The oil is very useful in aromatherapy and many aromatic preparations.

Lavender is commonly used for anxiety, stress, and insomnia. To assist sleep, if you've got lavender growing in your garden you can harvest the pretty purple flower buds and put them in a bowl next to your bed, ore better still why not put some homemade linen spray on the collar of your pyjamas or directly on your pillowcase before bed.

That's why we include lavender essential oil as one of the key ingredients in our Sleep Easy Balm.

Also, with all of us spending more time at home, it’s nice to have a linen spray on hand to freshen up your towels, throws as well as your pillows and linen before bedtime.

Using just three ingredients, this is a simple recipe and makes a wonderful gift.

  2. Pour into glass jar and add lavender flowers.
  3. Stir to make sure all flowers are covered, cover loosely with lid and leave for several hours to steep.
  4. Strain out into Pyrex jug using a sieve covered with fine muslin.
  5. Squeeze out excess liquid then discard muslin and lavender flowers.
  6. Top up water level in Pyrex jug to 400ml using de-ionised water (as flowers will have soaked up some of the liquid).
  7. Add 100ml Isopropyl alcohol and Lavender essential oil drops if using and stir.
  8. Carefully pour into individual glass bottles using funnel and enjoy!
