Key Active Ingredients

Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract — one of nature's most effective anti-inflammatory botanicals, used for centuries to soothe irritated, red and sensitive skin. Clinically noted for its skin-healing and anti-microbial properties.

Zinc Oxide — creates a physical protective barrier on the skin, shielding against moisture, urine and friction. The same active ingredient used in professional wound care and high-performance sun protection.

Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran) Oil — certified organic. Rich in vitamin E and omega fatty acids, deeply moisturising and naturally anti-inflammatory. Also forms part of the protective wax layer in the formula.

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil — certified organic. Naturally anti-microbial and anti-fungal, providing gentle protection against the bacteria and fungi that can cause and worsen nappy rash.

Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil — certified organic. Lightweight, non-comedogenic oil rich in linoleic acid that helps restore the skin's natural barrier without clogging pores.

Q: From what age can I use this nappy rash cream?

A: From birth. The formula is gentle enough for newborns including premature babies with particularly sensitive skin. As with any new product, a small patch test first is always advisable.

Q: Is it safe for cloth nappies?

A: Yes — this is one of the most common questions we get asked. The formula will not stain or damage cloth nappy fabrics, unlike many zinc-based creams which can leave greasy residues. Many of our customers use it specifically because of this.

Q: How is this different from Sudocrem or Metanium?

A: The key difference is what's not in it. Conventional nappy creams typically contain water, preservatives, synthetic fragrances and petroleum-derived ingredients. This cream contains none of those — every ingredient is 100% natural, plant-based and purposeful. It also contains no water, which means it is more concentrated — you need less product per application and it lasts longer.

Q: Why does it not contain water?

A: Water-free formulas are more concentrated and more effective per gram because every ingredient is active rather than being diluted. They also don't require preservatives to prevent bacterial growth in the product, which means fewer ingredients overall and a gentler formula for sensitive skin.

Q: How much should I use per application?

A: A pea-sized amount is usually sufficient. Because the formula is concentrated, a little goes a very long way. Start small — you can always add more. The 56g small size typically lasts 2–3 months with regular use.

Q: Can I use it as a preventative as well as a treatment?

A: Absolutely — in fact prevention is the best approach. Applying a thin layer at every nappy change creates a protective barrier before rash has a chance to develop. Many customers report their babies never developing nappy rash at all when this cream is used consistently from birth.

Q: Is it suitable for eczema-prone skin?

A: The formula is free from the most common skin irritants — synthetic fragrances, preservatives, alcohol and silicones — making it suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin. However we always recommend consulting your GP or health visitor before using any new product on skin affected by eczema.
